The Money Lab

The Money Lab is MissionNOLA's multi-generational financial literacy pathway, rooted in the Lower Ninth Ward. Whether you're 9 or 90, this is where you learn to actually speak the language of money — and build the life you control. We start with teens (14–19) through Money Changers™ and younger youth (9–13) through Krewe of Coins™, with Young Adult and Adult programming on the way. All built on the Save / Serve / Spend framework.

Money Changers™

Ages 14–19

Money Changers™ is MissionNOLA's flagship financial literacy movement for teens aged 14–19. This isn't a classroom lecture disguised as empowerment. It's a multi-session peer-level conversation where you learn to actually speak the language of money — not just understand it. Built on the Save / Serve / Spend framework, Money Changers teaches the financial skills that matter: asset versus liability thinking, real budgeting, how compound growth works, and why generosity isn't separate from wealth-building — it's central to it. We deliver these sessions directly in the Lower Ninth Ward and surrounding communities where we're rooted. We're not parachuting in. We're already here — part of this neighborhood, invested in its future, grounded in its resilience. The transformation is real. You walk in curious about money. You walk out a Money Changer — someone who understands the tools, controls the narrative, and builds the future you actually want.
